Kevin M. Bryant, CMAA      Portland OR

 Kevin has demonstrated his love of coaching and interscholastic and intercollegiate athletic administration through over twenty five years of service. Kevin's love of high school athletics started while he was a participant at Sunset High School in Beaverton OR.  He was a member of the 1975 AAA State Boys Basketball Champions. A four year letterwinner at Western Washington University In Bellingham WA. He ended his career in 1980 as the 2nd leading scorer in school history. Bryant went on to play for Athletes in Action-Canada basketball team for two years following his successful college career.

 

Kevin has coached high school basketball in Eugene OR (Churchill); Bellingham WA (Sehome) and Beaverton OR (Westview). He also coached men's basketball at his alma mater WWU for five years. He served as Athletic Director and Head Mens' Tennis Coach at Whitworth University. He joined the staff of Portland State University as PSU was making their transition from NCAA D-2 to NCAA 1-AA and the Big Sky Conference. 

 

Transitioning back to interscholastic athletic administration opportunities in Oregon he served as the Athletic Director at Aloha High School and at Tigard High School. In the midst of these service opportunities Kevin became involved with the Oregon Athletic Directors Association and was President of the organization from 2003-2005. In 2005 he was named Athletic Director of the Year.

 

Kevin assisted in writing curriculum for the LTC 611 class on Fundraising, Marketing and Booster Clubs. He has taught LTC classes the NIAAA National Conference five times, was the LTC chair person for Oregon for several years and has taught at the NIAAA National Conference on several occastions.

 

Kevin was named the State Award of Merit winner in 2006 from the NIAAA and the OADA In 2007 he was recognized at the NIAAA National Conference in Nashville, TN with the Distinguished Service Award. In 2009 in Grapevine, TX he was honored with the NFHS Citation award.

 

He still sees his most significant achievement as being married to Sara Ann for 31 years and the successful college graduations of this three children Michael, Megan and Katherine.
